In a vibrant outpouring of faith, gratitude, and communal generosity, philanthropist Mr. Joseph F. Mubang, Founder and CEO of the JF Mubang Foundation) once again demonstrated his deep commitment to supporting spiritual vocations and parish life in Bamenda. On Sunday, April 24, 2022, he played a prominent and generous role during the historic First Holy Mass celebrated jointly by the newly ordained priests Rev. Fr. Peter Chefor and Rev. Fr. Japheth Tibui at Queen of Peace Parish in Njimafor.

The celebration brought together the entire Christian community of Queen of Peace Parish for a joyful and spiritually uplifting event. In a remarkable show of collective support, the parishioners—both those at home in Cameroon and in the diaspora—had mobilized to gift the two young priests two cars, a practical and symbolic gesture to aid their pastoral ministry in a region where mobility is essential for reaching remote communities amid ongoing challenges.

Mr. Mubang’s contributions stood out prominently during the occasion. Present throughout the event, he personally purchased and distributed over 300 Mass Booklets for the celebration, each costing 1,000 FCFA. These booklets, containing the order of the Mass and prayers, were freely shared with members of the Catholic Women Association (CWA) and other Christians who might not have been able to afford their own copy—ensuring broad participation and inclusion in the sacred liturgy.

As the liturgical celebration transitioned into its second part—a festive reception and presentation of gifts—Mr. Mubang was honored by being named Chairman of the occasion. In this capacity, he presented each of the two newly ordained priests with generous gifts:
- Four chasubles (liturgical vestments) for each priest,
- A cash envelope as a token of ongoing support,
- A complete Mass Box (containing essential items for celebrating the Eucharist) specifically for Fr. Peter Chefor.

These thoughtful offerings not only equipped the priests for their future ministry but also symbolized the Mubang family’s enduring dedication to nurturing the Church’s growth.
On behalf of the entire parish community, the Parish Priest of Queen of Peace Njimafor, Rev. Fr. Ephraim Ugodu, publicly expressed heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mubang for his “remarkable contribution and support.” The priest’s words echoed the appreciation of the congregation, highlighting how such acts of kindness strengthen the bonds of faith and service in the local Church.

Held just days after Fr. Peter Chefor’s earlier First Mass at St. Frederick Comprehensive High School (facilitated by Mr. Mubang on April 22) and amid the backdrop of major healthcare pledges announced at the Chrism Mass earlier in the month, this event further illustrated Dr. Mubang’s multifaceted philanthropy. From medical donations and educational legacies to spiritual mentorship and parish empowerment, his actions continue to uplift the Archdiocese of Bamenda and honor the foundational values of compassion, faith, and community.
In a time when the North West Region faces significant trials, moments like this First Mass celebration serve as powerful reminders of hope, unity, and the transformative impact of giving back—rooted in family heritage and guided by the principle “To whom much is given, much is expected.”
