OUR HISTORY
The JF Mubang Foundation is a philanthropic organization based in Cameroon, focused on community development in the North West Region. It was established by Dr. Joseph Mubang, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist who serves as its Founder and CEO. After spending over four decades in the United States, he decided to return and serve his community by giving back to the local population.
The foundation has been carrying out humanitarian activities for many years but was officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Cameroon more recently. It maintains active offices in both Cameroon (T-Junction, Bamenda) and the US (Eastern Avenue NW, Suite 211, Washington, DC 20012).
Mission and Focus Areas
The foundation’s mission is to foster an inclusive society where individuals, regardless of background or ability, can thrive with dignity. It prioritizes outreach to the underprivileged, persons with disabilities, and those needing psychosocial support. Key objectives include empowering marginalized groups through resources, training, and advocacy for accessibility, inclusion, and equality.
Programs span several areas:
- Healthcare: Providing medical support and access in underserved regions.
- Education: Promoting inclusive education to break cycles of poverty and exclusion.
- Community Development: Initiatives in psychosocial care, peace-building, and support for persons with disabilities.
- Youth and Sports: Building character and unity through sports and youth programs.
The foundation remains active in promoting peace and development amid regional challenges in Cameroon, such as ongoing conflicts in the Anglophone regions. Its work continues to emphasize local impact, with Dr. Mubang’s leadership driving initiatives that restore hope and build resilient communities.
